Square
When scanning billets with a square or rectangular cross-section, eddy current test systems often reach their limit as the edges, in particular, are only insufficiently covered by the test.
FOERSTER provides the following test systems for the testing of square billets:
BARPROOF: Using phased-array ultrasonic technology and coupling via a rotating water jacket, the BARPROOF reliably detects longitudinal surface defects and internal defects on bars with bright and hot-rolled surfaces.
DEFECTOVISION: The DEFECTOVISION test systems uses heat-flow thermography. By analyzing the thermal spread on the billet surface, even the smallest surface defects can be detected and visualized. All but a few millimeters of the areas around the edges and the ends of the materials are also covered by the test.
DEFECTOMAT: The DEFECTOMAT product family is used for testing semi-finished products for point and transverse defects in the material. Various coils are available to meet different test tasks.
MAGNATEST D-HZP: The MAGNATEST D-HZP test system is ideal for material identification checking and heat treatment checking in billets. The system uses the magnetic-inductive method.
FOERSTER also provides the MAGNETOSCOP and MAGNETOMAT measuring instruments for measuring permeability and magnetic flux density.
