Pittsburgh, PA – August 3, 2020 - FOERSTER Instruments, Inc., a leading provider of non-destructive testing technology, has acquired U.S. Thermal Technology, Inc., which performs proven and accurate reformer tube inspection services for the petrochemical industry. The partnership allows FOERSTER Instruments to add these inspection capabilities to its portfolio as USTT becomes part of the global FOERSTER Group.
USTT has been a longtime partner of Magnetische Pruefanlagen GmbH (MP), another subsidiary of the FOERSTER Group, headquartered in Reutlingen, Germany. MP’s measuring and test instruments are among the market leaders in the field of non-destructive material testing. Using MP’s LEO-SCAN eddy current technology, USTT has been providing inspection services and remaining lifetime assessments to North and South America for 30 years.
“We are thrilled to have USTT as a member of the FOERSTER Group,” said Jason Wilburn, President. “After many years of partnership, the acquisition feels like the next natural step in the relationship. It allows both companies to better serve our customers. FOERSTER can provide a more complete portfolio of testing services, and USTT gains access to the global resources of the FOERSTER Group.”
